A film for the University of Manchester on Restoration and rewilding

MSC Nature Recovery, Restoration and Rewilding

In June 2024 we were approached by the University of Manchester to create an animated film for their new course, MSc Nature Recovery, Restoration and Rewilding.

The film was to be used on their campaign landing page and across the University’s social media platforms to inform prospective students about the course and how the course subject matters interact.

UOM’s Student Marketing and Recruitment officer, Hannah Jordan said:

‘We have pulled out a strand of thought in some of our campaign planning so far, surrounding the idea of Manchester being the birthplace of the ecological crisis we are living in because of it being the first industrialised city.

We like the idea of students coming to Manchester to study this degree as a form of course correcting the historical fabric of the city. The idea that they can come to the source of the problem to find a solution’

As requested by the client, the film was focussed on the environment rather than people and referenced Manchester throughout, with nods to the city’s trams, the Ship canal and the Castlefield Viaduct, Manchester’s green ‘sky-garden’ in the heart of the city.
